Badger women’s hockey heading to WCHA final

The Wisconsin women’s hockey team is heading to the WCHA final next weekend in Bemidji, MN after beating Minnesota State-Mankato 2-0 Sunday in Madison.

The second-ranked Badgers were on the ropes after Mavericks beat them Saturday, but they proved to be resilient when up against the wall.

Blayre Turnbull and Courtney Burke scored for the Badgers, which Alex Rigsby got her second shutout in three games for UW.

UW outshot MSU 36-21 to get the win. The Badgers will face North Dakota in the first round of the Final Faceoff in Bemidji Friday at 4 p.m.
