Badger women end regular season on high-note

Badger women’s hockey picked to win WCHA

The Wisconsin women’s hockey team ended the regular season with a 5-0 win over St. Cloud State Sunday at LaBahn Arena. 

After losing 2-1 to the Blizzard Friday, the Badgers came out of the gates fast. In the first period, Sarah Nurse and Blayre Turnbull both scored to give UW  a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. 

In the second period, Wisconsin didn’t slow down. Brittany Ammerman and Annie Pankowski added two more goals to take a 4-0 lead through two periods. 

In the third, Emily Clark scored to make it 5-0. 

Ann-Renee Desbiens tallied 10 saves for UW, preserving the 5-0 shutout.
