Badger Players Disappointed With Finish
So many good things happened to the Wisconsin Badgers this season, but there was still great disappointment at the end.
But most players also had no regrets about the game, as they reacted to the loss in the Wisconsin Badger locker room.
“We’re proud of the way we worked,” said center Peter Konz. “It’s sad to lose like that. We fought our butts off, but at the end of the day, when you leave it all on the field. Last year, we felt like there was some stuff out there, but this year, we left it all out.”
Many players felt Wisconsin gave it their best shot. They are bitterly disappointed, but they’ll keep their heads held high.
“Obviously, hats off to Oregon. They came out and made plays all day,” said fullback Bradie Ewing. “I’m just proud to be a part of this group, part of this team. We went down swinging.”
The players talked about the destination being as good as the journey this season.
“The locker room I was part of every single day was tremendous,” said quarterback Russell Wilson. “And obviously I want to thank Badger fans. They have the best fans in the country, without a doubt.”
“For the players coming back in this locker room, the challenge is to do it a third time,” said coach Bret Bielema. “We’ll see how they respond. It’s part of you. It’s a part of your history; it’s a part of who you’ll become.”
The Badgers finish the season at 11-3.
