Badger men sweep #1 Minnesota
Wisconsin takes both games, 2-1
MADISON — Nic Kerdiles scored the game winning goal four and a half minutes into the third period as the Wisconsin Baqgers men’s hockey team completed a sweep of number one ranked Minnesota with a 2-1 win at the Kohl Center Friday night.
Grant Besse gave the Badgers a 1-0 lead with a goal late in the first period, but the Gophers tied it at 1 on Seth Ambroz’s goal midway through the second period.
But Kerdiles scored at 4:33 of the third period and the Badgers held on for the 2-1 for the second straight night.
Joel Rumpel made 28 saves to get his second win on the weekend.
The Badgers are now 16-8-2 overall and 7-4-1 in the Big Ten.
The game was sold out at the Kohl Center with an attendance of 15,359.
