Authorities say 24-year-old Jace M. Scholler and 27-year-old Hannah E. Hood died when the 2013 Subaru Outback Scholler was driving rear-ended a disabled semi, ending up under the rear of the semi trailer and catching on fire. The fire then spread to the semi trailer.

The State Patrol says Scholler did not have the headlights of the Subaru on at the time of the crash.
