Authorities identify man killed after New Year’s Day crash on Madison’s west side
MADISON, Wis. — Authorities identified the man who died from injuries suffered during a New Year’s Day crash on Madison’s west side.
Nathan J. Steffenhagen, 47, of Middleton died on Sunday, according to the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Steffenhagen was driving a pickup truck south on Whitney Way near Mineral Point Road when he veered off the road and hit a tree, according to a release from the Madison Police Department. The crash was reported around 4 a.m. Friday.
Police believe alcohol played a role in this crash.
