Madison Capitols unveil new logo

Team begins play in September

At a luncheon held Wednesday in the Alliant Energy Center, the USHL expansion team Madison Capitols unveiled their new logos.  Three different logos were unveiled. One features a capitol building. Another features the state of Wisconsin. The third logo features the team name within a phoenix.

Memorial wins 14th state swim and dive championship

Madison Memorial swim and dive continued their dynastic run Saturday at the UW Natatorium, winning their fourth consecutive Boys State Swim and Dive Championship and 14th overall. 

Badgers sweep Michigan State on Senior Day

In the last home series of the season, the Badger men's hockey team sent the seniors out in style, beating Michigan State 2-0 Saturday at the Kohl Center. 

Monona Grove beats Edgewood 56-43

Stoughton stuns Oregon 50-49

Monona Grove had a chance to clinch the Badger South Conference Tuesday. All they needed was to win at Edgewood and for Stoughton to upset Oregon. They got both.

Badgers Fill The Bowl, Gophers roll

Record crowd sees No. 1 Minnesota beat Wisconsin 4-0

Wisconsin Women's Hockey wanted to Fill The Bowl at the Kohl Center. They did just that. An NCAA record 13,573 packed the Kohl Center Saturday night to see top-ranked Minnesota face No. 2 Wisconsin. The Gophers were unfazed by the crowd and calmly beat the Badgers 4-0.

Improve to 23-3-2 with No. 1 Minnesota on horizon

The No. 2 Wisconsin Women's Hockey team continued to roll Saturday, scoring a 3-2 win over Ohio State. Brittany Ammerman scored two goals for Wisconsin.

Badgers fall to 1-6 on the road

Wisconsin Men's Hockey continued their road struggles Friday night in Ann Arbor as Michigan jumped out to a 3-0 lead before beating the Badgers 3-1. The loss drops the Badgers to 1-6 on the road this season. They've lost just twice at home. 

Celtics sign Vander Blue

Former Memorial, Marquette star signs 10-day contract

The Boston Celtics have signed former Madison Memorial and Marquette star Vander Blue to a 10-day contract. Blue confirmed the signing on his Twitter, saying "God is amazing! I am speechless right now. All it took was patience." 

Top ranked Mount Horeb stays undefeated

Drop Reedsburg 49-42

This week, Mount Horeb took over the top spot in the Division Two rankings. Tuesday, they put their undefeated record, and top ranking, on the line as they hosted Reedsburg. After a back and forth first half, the Vikings took control in the second half. They won 49-42. 

UND whoops the Badger Women 4-1

UW's first loss since Oct. 12

Number four North Dakota came into LaBahn Arena underdogs. After all, the Badger women came in ranked second and hadn't lost a game since Oct. 12. UND didn't blink. They beat the Badgers 4-1. 

Wisconsin Men's Hockey sweeps Michigan

Take Saturday showdown 3-1

Before this weekend, Michigan hadn't come to Madison for a two-game series since 1981. They were reminded why Saturday when Wisconsin completed the weekend sweep with a 3-1 win. 

Warhawks head to Stagg Bowl XLI

Whitewater Football is headed back to the Division Three National Championship for the eighth time in nine years. They'll play Mount Union, the same team they've played their last seven trips to Salem, Va.

Badgers Volleyball heads to Final Four

For the first time since 2000, and the second time in program history, Wisconsin Volleyball advanced to the Final Four Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Purdue. 

Whitewater rallies to beat Linfield

Whitewater football was in unfamiliar territory Saturday afternoon in a frigid Perkins Stadium. After Whitewater fumbled away a kickoff, Linfield took a 17-0 second quarter lead. From there, Matt Behrendt led the Warhawks to 28 unanswered points; and Whitewater beat Linfield 28-17.

West hockey defeats Memorial 5-1

In our first Winter 2013-2014 Prep Mania Game of the Week, Madison West defeated Madison Memorial 5-1 in boys hockey at Madison Ice Arena.
