Whitewater football extended their nation-long win streak to 29 games Saturday when they beat Wabash 38-14 in the second round of the NCAA Division Three playoffs.

UW-Whitewater crushed Macalester (Minn.) 55-2 Saturday at Perkins Stadium. With the win, the Warhawks advance to the second round of the NCAA Division Three Playoffs. The Warhawks play Wabash in the second round next Saturday with the time and location to be announced.

Wisconsin women's soccer won the Big Ten Tournament Championship Sunday in West Lafayette, Ind. They beat Iowa 1-0 in double-overtime. 

Olin Hacker repeats as state champion

Amy Smith wins D2 girls title

Olin Hacker dominated Saturday's division one state championship race. He blazed through the Wisconsin Rapids cross country course in a time of 14:59. The runner-up, Verona's Ryan Nameth, finished in a time of 15:35. Hacker's effort led Madison West the a team championship, as well. In division three, Darlington put two runners in the top ten and won a team title.

Delavan-Darien defeated Mount Horeb Saturday in the division three state championship game. In their fourth trip to state in five seasons, the Vikings leaft Milwaukee state runners-up.

Wisconsin men's basketball took to the Kohl Center floor Saturday for the annual Red-White scrimmage. They were met with a crowd of 8,002 fans, who came to support the No. 4 Badgers.

Saturday at a sold out UW Fieldhouse, No. 5 Wisconsin volleyball beat No. 14 Nebraska 25-19, 25-21, 25-18. UW extends their winning streak to nine matches while snapping a 17-match losing streak vs. Nebraska that dated back to 1978.

Darlington has played their football games under the light of the sun for nearly a century. The tradition was started by Hall Of Fame coach Walter "Wadz" Martens, and remains so today.

Saturday at the UW Fieldhouse, Wisconsin volleyball extended their winning streak to seven matches as they defeated Minnesota 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 to improve to 7-1 in the Big Ten.

Wisconsin women's hockey came into the weekend with the nation's top ranking as the No. 1 Badgers hosted No. 2 Minnesota. The Gophers weren't intimidated in UW's ranking, or a raucous crowd at LaBahn Arena. The Gophers beat Wisconsin 3-0 Friday night, then again 2-1 in overtime on Saturday.

The sixth-ranked Wisconsin volleyball team notched their fifth Big Ten win in a row Sunday in the sold-out UW Fieldhouse. The Badgers beat Maryland 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 in front of a crowd of 6,012.

Cardinals edge Waunakee to qualify for state

The Middleton girls tennis team qualified for the WIAA State Team Tennis Tournament Thursday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium, as the Cardinals edged Waunakee 50-42.

According to multiple reports, former Badgers tight end Jacob Pedersen tried out for the Packers Monday. The news came the same day the Packers announced they released tight end Ryan Taylor.
