Brisack leads Verona to State Tournament

Saturday night in Waunakee, Victoria Brisack led Verona to a 3-0 sectional final win over Sun Prairie. It marked the Wildcats' first trip to the state tournament in four years. Brisack said she couldn't have asked for a better ending to her senior year. 

Noskowiak leaves Iowa State

Former Sun Prairie basketball standout Nick Noskowiak announced Saturday that he is leaving Iowa State. In a statement released through the university, Noskiwiak said "I have decided to step away from Iowa State men's basketball program. I wish Coach Prohm, my former coaches and teammates the best of luck in the future, and I appreciate the opportunity they gave me to be a part of their team." 

Finco takes road less traveled to UW

UW wide receiver Ricky Finco got his first taste of playing at Camp Randall in high school. When he took the field, he immediately knew he wanted to suit up for Wisconsin someday.

Lake Mills duo starts Black Widow Bats

Twenty-seven-year-old Nate Keller played baseball all his life. From little league, to high school, to college, Keller dreamed of making the big leagues. In college, Keller suffered a shoulder injury and had to face an all-to-familiar reality. 

Fall River girls make first trip to state

Saturday in a division five sectional final, the Fall River girls basketball team beat Sheboygan Christian 70-55. The win marked the Pirates' first ever trip to the state tournament. 

Kaukauna thumps Stoughton in division one finals

Saturday at the UW Fieldhouse, defending state champion Kaukauna was just too much for Stoughton to handle. The Galloping Ghosts ran away from the Vikings 41-21 in the division one state finals of team state wrestling. 

Fennimore falls to Coleman 45-34

Saturday at the UW Fieldhouse, Fennimore's season came to an end in the division three team state wrestling semifinals. The Golden Eagles fell to defending state champion Coleman 45-34.

Fennimore wrestling rolls past competition

The Fennimore wrestling team made history in 2015. The Golden Eagles qualified for team state wrestling for the first time ever. They did so while practicing in Fennimore's Rainbow Palace roller skating rink. 

Bostick writes about death threats

Brandon Bostick wrote a column for Sports Illustrated's MMQB.com Thursday. In it, the former Packers tight end wrote that he received countless death threats from fans following the Green Bay's loss to Seattle in this year's NFC Championship game. Bostick even went as far to say "I regret ever jumping for the ball."

Senior Night has a happy ending

Wisconsin women's hockey has struggled to score at LaBahn arena lately; failing to score more than two goals in six out of their last seven home games. Saturday against Minnesota-Duluth, the Badgers had no trouble scoring. They beat the Bulldogs 5-0. 

Prep Mania Game of the Week

It was Cardinals vs. Cardinals Friday night as Middleton hosted Sun Prairie in boys basketball action. Middleton used an 18-0 run to build a lead that was too big for Sun Prairie to overcome as Middleton came away with a 58-52 win.
