August F. Eisfeldt

August F. “Fritz” Eisfeldt, 69, of Ft. Atkinson, passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, due to complications from lung cancer.

Fritz was born November 8, 1944, in Hustisford to Roy C. and Ruby M. (Ramey) Eisfeldt. He attended Watertown Sr. High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1967 in Korea, Vietnam and stateside at Ft. Riley, KS and Ft. Ord, CA. He was a member of Company B, 1st Avn Bn, 1st Inf Div (Big Red 1), and was also a member of Post 1879 Fort Atkinson VFW.

In 1964, he married Mary C. Beggan. Together they had four children: Bridget M. (Greg Litten) of McKinleyville, CA; Julie L. (Keith Oschmann) of Watertown; Noelle T. (Tim Little) of Colorado Springs, CO; and Steven A. of Lake Mills.

On October 7, 2011, he married Bonnie S. (Daniels) Harrison.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his four children, brother Philip (Florence) of Greenfield, brother Roy Jr. (Mary) of Watertown, grandson Eric N. of Janesville, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Fritz was employed as a carpet layer, supervisor for plastics companies, and at Jones Dairy Farm prior to retiring at 62. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed his euchre card club, oldies music, archaeology, history, genealogy, and cooking. Fritz loved one-liners and always made people laugh.

A visitation to remember and celebrate Fritz’s life will begin at 9 a.m., on Saturday, July 12, at Dunlap Memorial Home, 604 S. Main St., Ft. Atkinson, with memorial service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1105 N. Main St., Ft. Atkinson, with military rites.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care given to Fritz by Fort Health Care, Johnson Creek Cancer Center, and UW Hospital in Madison.
