Audrey Ann Izzard was born on February 1, 1934 in Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Ervin and Audrey (Meye) Stuempges. She went to school in Park Falls and moved to Milwaukee after finishing school. While living and working in Milwaukee she met the love of her life, John “Jack” Izzard. On April 7, 1956 Audrey and Jack were married. They lived in Milwaukee for a short time and then moved to Racine until 1966. Jack then took a promotion, and the family moved to Lake Mills, Iowa. While in Lake Mills, Audrey operated Audrey’s Upholstery Shop. In 1976 Audrey and Jack decided to own their own business and moved to Mayville, WI and started a partnership in a NAPA store there. Watching the business grow, they decided to sell their share of the Mayville store in 1977 and bought and owned the NAPA store in Platteville. Audrey and Jack retired in February and March of 1998 respectively. Audrey had many interests, enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She started family genealogy in the early 1960’s, collecting hob nail milk glass and coins. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and traveling. Enjoying trips to Florida and Texas to escape the winters of Wisconsin. Their travels took them to all but three states, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Audrey and Jack were especially fond of camping and fishing, most recently at River of Lakes in Bagley, Wisconsin.
Audrey is survived by her three children, John (Cindy) Izzard of Indianapolis, Indiana; Susan (Bruce) Gray of Iron Mountain, Michigan; David (Toni) Izzard of Platteville, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren, Amy (Ron) Nagle of Lafayette, IN; Mindy (Victor) Neilson of Nashville, TN; Brian (Emily) Metke of Mauston, WI; Brooke (Eric) Frehse of Wausauke, WI; Steven Gray and Jennelle Gray of Iron Mountain, MI; Ben Izzard and Hilary Izzard of Platteville, WI; 3 great-grandchildren, Robert Neilson, Makayla and Blake Nagle; 3 brothers, Ervin (Darlene) of Wales, WI; Leonard (Lois) of Park Falls, WI; and Kenneth of Shell Knob, MO; along with cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
