Attorney asks for competency hearing in Middleton murder case
MADISON, Wis. — The man charged in the death of a Middleton woman was in Dane County Court on Tuesday.
Authorities believe 53-year-old John Hamann intentionally killed 82-year-old Agnes Bram at her house last month.
Hamann’s attorney has requested a competency evaluation.
A hearing on that evaluation is scheduled for June 22. If he is found competent, a preliminary hearing will be scheduled.
Right now, police have not released a motive in the case.
A criminal complaint said Hamann had been renting a room inside Bram’s home for two months.
