At least 15 to lose jobs when Nedrebo’s stops production in Middleton
MIDDLETON, Wis. — Nedrebo’s Formal Wear is stopping production from its Middleton warehouse, shifting it to the company’s second warehouse in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Nedrebo’s president Mark Morrow said the Middleton warehouse will now serve as a distribution center, taking in daily orders from Minnesota.
Morrow estimates the change will result in about 15 to 20 warehouse employees losing their jobs — the production staff who fill orders and take care of dry cleaning. The Middleton location will still house an office and support staff as well as drivers.
“Nedrebo’s is alive and well and stores are doing great,” Morrow said. The shift from Middleton to Minnesota is because the Minnesota facility is able to serve the company’s production needs on its own, Morrow said.
Nedrebo’s first opened on State Street in Madison in 1944. The family-owned and operated business was acquired by Savvi Madison in 2012.
