Arthur Richard Rowe
Arthur Richard Rowe, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his daughter’s home. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of Garner and Beatrice (Goodspeed) Rowe and step-mother, Ruth Baxter. Arthur served in the navy in WWII and when he returned, he married his loving wife, June in 1946. They have been together for 67 years. Arthur and June enjoyed traveling every year and had a wonderful life together. He was a shining light to many and loved spending time and visiting with family, friends and neighbors at the condo. Arthur worked as a salesman and had a gift of gab. He loved playing golf with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughter, Gail (Bobby) Austin; grandchildren, Melissa (Todd) Gruber, John Weber and Brian (Stephanie) Weber; great-grandchildren, Rikki, Haley, Sam, Mara and Kaylin; great-great-grandchild, Thomas; daughter-in-law, Suzie Fern Rowe; a brother Jim Rowe; nephews and nieces, William (Diane), Tom (Ruthann), Jerry (Sheri) Zibell, Michael (Karen), Allen (Cindy), Lynda Meador, William (Joan) Rowe and Nancy Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard; a sister, Sue Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law, Trudy Rowe, special friend of the family, Kathy Stewart; and step-mother, Ruth Baxter.
Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
