Armed robbers take cash from east side sandwich shop
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are searching for two men they believe robbed a sandwich shop on the city’s far east side Saturday night.
Police said employees from Potbelly’s Sandwich Shop, 4833 Annamark Drive, were closing for the night when two men forced their way into the restaurant. One of the men showed a handgun and took the manager into the back room where the safe was located.
The men fled a short time later with an unknown amount of money, police said.
No one was injured in the robbery, which is still under investigation, police said. The suspects are described as two black men around 20 years old and wearing dark clothing and black masks.
