Armed robber takes cigarettes, cash

An armed robber took cigarettes and cash from a convenience store on Madison’s east side early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to BP Open Pantry at 1424 Pflaum Rd. at 7 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

The clerk told police the robbery asked for cigarettes and while the clerk was responding to the request, the man displayed a gun and demanded cash.

The robber is described as black, in his 40s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with stubble. He was wearing a navy coat, tan winter hat, yellow sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and silver wire-rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to Madison police at Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
