A pizza place on Madison’s southwest side was robbed Wednesday evening, and Madison police are looking for the man who pulled a handgun on an employee at the restaurant.

The incident happened at the Papa John’s in the 6600 block of McKee Road around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the employee was in the back of the store when the man entered through a back door, displayed a black barreled handgun with a brown grip, and robbed the store of money before running away.

A police K9 was unable to track down the suspect, according to police.

Police are looking for a black man 5 feet 8 to 6 feet tall, 17-20 years of age, with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, possibly dark pants, wearing a skeleton mask.

Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to call Madison police.
