Arlette L. Mellum

Arlette L. Mellum, age 72, of Dodgeville, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Upland Hills Health following a brief illness. The former Arlette Reddeman was born on May 16, 1940 in Poynette to Arthur and Delores (Rasmussen) Reddeman. She married Ivan Mellum of Dodgeville on September 19, 1959 and the couple lived in the Town of Blooming Grove until retiring to Dodgeville in 1983. Arlette was a Waitress at many Madison and Dodgeville area restaurants but was always first and foremost a mother. She enjoyed time spent with a good book, fishing and traveling. Her greatest joy was time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan on December 10, 2009 and Ivan’s parents, Harland and Ione Mellum.

Arlette is survived by three children, Dan Mellum (Kelsi Kitelinger) of Montfort; Gerri Mellum (Bob Manka) of Linden and Doug Mellum (Tami Radel) of Madison; six grandchildren, Dustin, Seth, Emilee, Olivia; Matthew and Jaimi; six siblings, Loretta Erdahl of Monona; Dorothy Culp of Hagerstown, MD; Sue Olson of Stoughton; Pamela “Tiffin” Pollock of Plymouth, MN; Bill Reddeman of Madison and Deb Nelson of Madison; a brother-in-law, Larry Mellum of McFarland; a sister-in-law, Linda Duryee of Madison; a very special friend, Ray Olson of Dodgeville as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville where Memorial Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Stephen Stauffacher officiating. A gathering will follow at Gowdys in Montfort to further celebrate Arlette’s life. Memorials to Upland Hills Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Arlette’s family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Upland Hills Hospice and Hospital for their compassionate care they gave her during her stay with them.
