Another skimmer discovered at Madison gas station
Another skimmer was discovered during an inspection at a Madison gas station pump this week, police said.
Madison police said a city of Madison inspector was conducting random inspections at about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning when he found the credit card skimmer attached to the internal workings of a pump at Genin’s Mobile at 3505 University Ave.
The skimmer was seized by police and turned over to the FBI, according to the report.
Employees at the gas station told an officer they last checked pumps four days earlier and there were no skimmers at that time.
The device found Tuesday is the latest in a string of similar fraud cases that have targeted Madison and other Wisconsin communities, police said.
