AnnaMae Francis Rosol
MADISON, Wis. — AnnaMae Francis Rosol, age 72, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare after a long and courageous battle with cancer for over 30 years. She was born on Feb. 17, 1944, in Wauwatosa, the daughter of Evelyn Younger and Clarence Knutson. She married her soulmate John Rosol Sr. on Nov. 9, 1968, in Madison. AnnaMae was raised by her grandmother, Ella Younger on Potter Street and attended St Mark’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Central High School in 1962. After high school AnnaMae joined the Dept. of Defense USAFI where she worked for 12 years in administration. When they closed, she worked for Ohio Medical Products/GE Healthcare until her retirement. She was very active for over 30 years in both the Charismatic Renewal and Blessed Sacrament Prayer Group. AnnaMae was incredibly strong in her faith and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was a devoted and loving mother herself but her true pride and joy came from her grandchildren. She spent countless hours attending school programs and after-school events and never missed an opportunity to dote on them. She was a wonderful baker and was well known for her banana bread recipe. She was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew her. AnnaMae is survived by her children; John (Laura) Rosol Jr., Kim Rosol (Mike Grieshammer) and Thomas (Teresa) Rosol; grandchildren, TJ, Trinity and Tiffany Stevens, Lucas Davidson, Makenzie and Jenna Mae Rosol, and Tyson and Evan Rosol; great-grandchild, Vance “George”; sister Mary (Paul Robbins) Knutson-Robbins, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; mother and father-in-law; husband, John Sr.; and very special Uncle Gene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gail, Mary, Betsy and Candy, the staff of Agrace, as well as many more friends too numerous to list for all their loving and compassionate care.
