Andrew John “Andy” Hollibush
MADISON – Andrew John “Andy” Hollibush, age 84, of Madison, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Harmony Assisted Living in McFarland.
He was born on October 17, 1929, the son of Orris Hollibush and Anamae (Jones) Dobbs. Andy graduated from Evansville High School in 1947. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard 32nd Infantry. Andy worked at the Diocese of Madison for over 50 years before retiring in 2009. Andy married Ann Mary O’Brien in 1953. He had a love for training others at his gym for many years and was an avid gardener.
Andy is survived by his children, Cynthia (Jim) Andrews of Blue Mound, Wis., Mary (John) Scott of Waukesha, Wis., Anna Mattioli of Waunakee, Wis., Beverly (Jeff) Kluth of Renton, Wash., Patricia Hollibush of Belleville, Wis., Joan Hollibush of Madison, Wis., Edward (Cheryl) Hollibush of Madison, Wis. and Andrew Hollibush of Madison, Wis.; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Zimmer, Helen Aldrich and Pat Schneider; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; and two brothers, David and Marvin.
Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
