Missing Baraboo teen found safe following Amber Alert; 19-year-old man taken into custody
BARABOO, Wis. — An Amber Alert for a missing Baraboo teen was canceled after she was found safe, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
Kiera L. Krumenauer, 15, was last seen with Austin J. Dailey, 19, of Baraboo, on Tuesday in a stolen grey 2012 Dodge Journey.
According to a news release from the Baraboo Police Department, an officer pulled over Dailey, but he drove away as the officer approached him. This led to a short chase that was stopped for safety reasons.
Police said Dailey is known to have an arrest warrant from Sauk County as a Huber walkaway and has since been taken into custody.
Law enforcement issued the alert just before 4 p.m. Wednesday. The alert said Krumenauer was believed to be in “grave danger.”
Police are actively investigating Dailey for charges related to the stolen vehicle, escaping police and an active warrant.
Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call the Baraboo Police Department at 608-355-2720.
