Amazon truck catches fire delaying morning commute on I-39/90
MADISON, Wis. — A cargo truck hauling packages for Amazon caught fire early Friday on Interstate 39/90, causing delays during the morning commute, the Madison Fire Department said.
The fire at mile marker 139 on northbound I-39 in Madison started shortly after 6 a.m., the DOT said.
The truck was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, the Madison Fire Department said.
The traffic backup extended more than 3 miles, officials said. Lanes were reopened just before 8 a.m., traffic officials said.
There were no injuries during the incident, the Madison Fire Department said.
