Alliant Energy Foundation: Golf event raised $475,000 for food banks
MADISON, Wis. — The Alliant Energy Foundation hosted its 11th annual Drive Out Hunger Golf Classic in September, raising $475,000 for local food banks.
The foundation raised $75,000 more than in 2016, bringing the total over the last 11 years to $3.1 million. The foundation works with the Second Harvest Food bank and several other food banks to help hungry families in Wisconsin.
“We are incredibly grateful for Alliant Energy Foundation’s dedication to improving the lives of the people in the communities they serve,” Dan Stein, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food bank of Southern Wisconsin, said in a news release. “And we are honored that they have chosen Second Harvest, and our sister food banks, to partner with and help those in our community who just need a little help.”
