Allen A. Highman
MADISON- Allen A. Highman, age 74, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2017.
He was born in Racine on May 31, 1943, the son of Arthur and Ruth (Pankow) Highman. Allen graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. He married Dottie Brousil on November 18, 1967, and passed away on what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. He worked as the State Employees’ Union arbitrator for AFSCME Council 24 for 30 years.
Allen was an avid boater and loved spending time with family and friends on his houseboat on the Mississippi. He loved having fish tanks, doing genealogy, traveling and going to shows with Dottie before her death in April of 2001. His fun spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Joe) Martin and Kim (Don) Krause; five grandchildren, Emily, Renee, Joshua, Celia and Jacob; great-granddaughter, Lexi; sister, Connie (Dave) Mickelsen; brother-in-law, Bob (Ellen) Brousil; and a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie; parents; and sister, Kathy Highman.
Allen’s family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Place and UW Home Health for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Peter Catholic Church or Badger Camp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., with Msgr. Charles Schluter presiding. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2017.
