Alice Gavinski, age 86 of Wisconsin Dells, WI passed away peacefully Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Wisconsin Dells.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Alice was born September 6, 1930 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ernest and Estella (Griffith) Kessler. On June 27, 1956 she married Eugene Gavinski. In her younger days, Alice worked as a bank teller in Baraboo and in the Dells area worked as a clerk at many of the local businesses. She was very involved and a dedicated member at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, teaching religious education, distributing communion, singing in the church choir, being a lector, and a member of Ladies Sodality. Alice was socially active as well and enjoyed playing bridge, listening to music, dancing, and going out for dinner . After her husband Eugene passed in 1992, Alice met Joseph Schilz who became a devoted companion and dear friend of Alice until her resting day.
Alice is survived by daughters, Nana Luedeman, Gale (Joseph) Alfini, Amy Lou Brown, and Cheryl (Greggory) Schmidt; and grandchildren, Sean, Eric, Dana, Michael, Christy, Megan, Derrek, Dallas, Jack and Samuel; as well as her devoted companion, Joseph Schilz. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eugene.
