Alfred “Al” Heidemann

LODI-Alfred L. Heidemann, age 66, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare Inc.

He was born on August 25, 1950, the son of Jerome “Joe” and Barbara (Carney) Heidemann, in Wausau. Al graduated from LaFollette High School in 1968. He married Lois Jamieson on Aug. 24, 1991.

Al was employed by Verizon for over 35 years, working as a technical engineer. He started his love for music at just the age of four, starting with the accordion and winning many awards. By age fifteen, Al was being hired out for his musical talents. Upon retirement from the phone company, he pursued his love of music as a full time career. Al played for over 20 years with Rachelle and the Red Hot Rattlers and Clauson Family Music Show, and dedicated over 50 years sharing his talents with many other musicians throughout the state of Wisconsin. He played many different genres and especially loved Jazz music. He was an animal lover, taking in rescue animals, owned horses and loved his dogs like they were his own children.

Al was a Ham radio enthusiast and was a certified Ham radio operator, as well as a certified Hammond organ expert.

Al is survived by his wife, Lois; two step-daughters, Alana Eastlick and Amy (Jason) Havlik; five grandchildren, Brett, Brynn and Tristan Eastlick and Mackenzie and Karsyn Havlik; an aunt, Phyllis Carney. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
