Alert Days for bitter cold
Another cold snap is expected this week. Luckily, the bitter cold will only stick around for a couple of days. Clear skies and fresh snow on the ground will allow temperatures to fall quickly overnight. Morning low temperatures on Wednesday will be in the single digits below zero. Northwesterly winds around 10 mph will send wind chills into the single digits below zero.
Plenty of sunshine will stick around on Wednesday, but temperatures will only top out in the upper teens during the afternoon. Skies will remain clear Wednesday night once again. Temperatures will plummet to the single digits below zero by daybreak on Thursday. Wind chills will be even colder, down to -15 degrees at times.
Friday marks the end of the cold snap with temperatures returning to the lower 30s in the afternoon. It will be even milder for the weekend with high temperatures near 40 degrees.
