Alert Day for bitter cold -Haddie

Alert Day

An Alert Day is in effect for today.  Temperatures will be 15-20 degrees below zero today.  With fresh snow on the ground and clear skies this morning, we’re waking up to temperatures below zero.  Even a light northwesterly wind of 5-10 MPH sends wind chills into the double digits below zero.

Highs today will be in the upper teens, but wind chills will stay in the single digits above zero.

Friday temps

Warmer weather will return on Friday.  Southwesterly winds will increase and high temperatures will climb to the lower 30s in the afternoon.  Even milder weather is expected for the weekend.  Highs should top out in the lower 40s.  Some fog may develop across southern Wisconsin as the snow begins to melt.

The weather pattern will turn more active for the first part of next week.  A chance for rain and snow is in the forecast Sunday night into Monday.  Another storm will bring a chance for snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.
