Waunakee/Westport – Adeline Reinhardt, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on November 5, 1923 in Borodino, Romania, the daughter of Friedrich and Emma (Hein) Höger.
She married Benjamin Reinhardt on June 1, 1941 in Germany. They immigrated to America with their four children and settled in Lodi in March of 1952. She worked at Graber Manufacturing until her retirement.
She was very active in the Madison German Club and was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Adeline loved cooking, especially traditional German dishes, gardening, playing cards, crocheting and dancing. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Nelli (Jim) Sielehr, Erika Bakken-Schipsi, Ervin (Donna) Reinhardt, Helga (Steve) Sauer and Fred (Nadine) Reinhardt; grandchildren, Jim (Avery) Sielehr, Brian Sielehr, Angela Henderson, Jeffrey (Karma) Bakken, Denise Schuler, John Sauer, Dan (Nell) Sauer, Tom (Jackie) Melah, and Kent and Alfred Bowen; great-grandchildren, Jade and Peyton Hein, Tyler Sielehr, Erika and Emily Henderson, Gabrielle Schuler, Ocean Chi Bakken; numerous step-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred (Lena) Höger and Helmut (Margaret) Höger of Germany; and brother-in-law Oskar (Lottie) Geroschon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother and sister-in-law Otto (Kati) Höger and her grandson Keith Bowen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Adeline’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate and loving care in her final weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for a memorial fund to be determined later.
