7 shell casings found after neighbors report hearing afternoon gunfire, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Several shell casings were found in a west Madison neighborhood Wednesday afternoon after neighbors reported hearing gunfire, according to a release.
Police were called just before 4 p.m. to the 5800 block of Dorsett Drive after several residents, including a 64-year-old man, heard gunfire outside, officials said.
The 64-year-old told officers he saw an older, tan-colored GM car heading east after hearing the gunfire.
Officers found seven shell casings from two different guns in the road, according to the release.
One witness told officers they believe the gunfire was between two cars, both of which drove quickly away from the area.
