The Wisconsin State Patrol reported the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near exit 43 at about 3:30 p.m.

According to a release, a vehicle towing a boat tried to change lanes and caused a vehicle in the other lane to make a quick move and over correct.

When that vehicle over corrected, it caused the vehicle towing the boat to jack knife and lose control, which ultimately ended up hitting the car.

All occupants were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Four people in a truck were from Carpentersville, Illinois. Three people traveling in a car were from Rockford and Cherry Valley, Illinois.

The traffic was rerouted for about an hour and a half.
