7 injured in bus crash on Madison’s west side, fire officials say
MADISON, Wis. — Multiple people were injured in a crash involving a school bus and an SUV on Friday afternoon on Madison’s west side, fire officials said.
The Madison Fire Department said it responded at 4 p.m. to a report of a crash on Ganser Way and Westward Way.
The city sent emergency responders for initial reports of people injured, but additional ambulances were later requested as responders learned of additional injuries, the report said.
Two adults inside the SUV reported they were injured and were taken to the hospital, the report said.
There were approximately 20 children on the bus, along with the bus driver, at the time of the crash, fire officials said. Initially, no one on board reported injuries. As time progressed, five children reported they were injured. The children who reported being injured were taken to a local hospital or released to a parent or guardian.
None of the reported injuries are considered to be life-threatening, the fire department said. Madison police are investigating the crash.
