6-year-old girl taken to hospital after hit-and-run in Fitchburg, police say
FITCHBURG, Wis. — A 6-year-old girl was taken to a hospital Sunday night after a hit-and-run in Fitchburg.
According to a news release, police responded to High Ridge Trail for a report of someone hit by a vehicle shortly after 8 p.m.
The release said the crash happened in the 2100 block of High Ridge Trail.
Police said the girl was hit by the car while riding her bike. She was later taken to a hospital by Fitchrona EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said the suspect vehicle is believed to be a gray, four-door sedan with an older front end damage driven by a Hispanic man in his 20s.
The driver of the car was last seen by witnesses headed eastbound on High Ridge Trail yelling at the girl to stay out of the road, police said.
