$5K reward offered in Cross Plains gun store burglary case
CROSS PLAINS, Wis. — Officials have released surveillance photos from a burglary in Cross Plains where firearms were stolen Friday morning .
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office shared three surveillance photos from PT Firearms on Glaciers Edge Square, where a pair of burglars backed a stolen car into the shop and stole guns Friday at about 3:30 a.m.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary of PT Firearms.
The 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis used to back into the store was stolen from a home in Cross Plains just prior to the burglary, the sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s detectives are working closely with the ATF and Cross Plains police to find out who is responsible for the crime, and to recover the missing firearms before they are used in other crimes.
In addition to the surveillance photos, officials also provided a photo of a Camp Trails backpack that was found at the scene. Anyone who recognizes one of the people in the images, the backpack, or anyone who has information about the crime is asked to call the Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900.
