52-year-old man, 16-year-old found dead in apparent Watertown murder-suicide
WATERTOWN, Wis. — The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a likely murder-suicide after a 52-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were found dead inside a City of Watertown home early Saturday morning.
According to an incident report, the sheriff’s office was asked to assist Watertown police with the incident around 3:40 a.m. in the 900 block of Country Lane.
The report said the 52-year-old man is believed to be the actor, and nobody else is believed to be involved in the incident.
“It’s a very quiet neighborhood in the city of Watertown, it’s certainly a bit of a shocking situation for citizens in the area,” Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt told News 3 Now. “It is a very stable situation at this point, in fact our investigators are no longer at the scene.”
The sheriff’s office said names are being withheld pending notification of family members.
There is no active threat to the community.
“The violence that occurs, you can’t blame it on any one thing,” Schmidt said. “There are just so many different things that we have to be aware of and work through. If you find yourself in one of those situations, we just ask that you contact us right away or contact somebody to help.”
