50-year-old suffers facial injuries in mugging attack; Madison man arrested
MADISON, Wis. — A mugger was taken into custody after he attacked and robbed a man on Madison’s east side this weekend, police said.
The Madison Police Department said a 50-year-old man was mugged at about 6 a.m. Saturday on Jenifer Street at South Ingersoll Street.
According to police, during the mugging, the victim was punched and knocked to the ground. While down, he was punched several more times. The suspect fled with the victim’s money and bag.
The bloodied victim called for police and was taken to a hospital with serious facial injuries, including a broken nose, police said.
Central District officers, working with the victim, were able to develop probable cause to arrest 36-year-old Kiel D. Aaron in connection with the attack. He was arrested in the 600 block of East Washington Avenue on Monday morning.
Aaron is facing tentative charges of robbery with use of force, substantial battery and felony bail jumping.
