If you're looking to find an outdoor adventure, discover local art or eat a good grilled cheese sandwich, consider visiting Paoli.

Paoli is a tiny, unincorporated town along the Sugar River that’s home to a thriving business community. The town feels like Stars Hollow, even without Luke’s Diner. Next time you’re on the way to New Glarus or Monroe, consider making a stop or take the short 30 minute drive to specifically explore the town.

Kayak on the Sugar River.
For those looking to get on the water, Sugar River Outfitters can set you up with a kayak for an adventure on the Sugar River. There is also an option for a ride with an instructor on the river. Remember to pack bug spray and sunscreen while on your adventure.

Try an upgraded grilled cheese.
Landmark Creamery is known for its assortment of fancy cheeses, jams and preservatives, but you can also order a grilled cheese that’s beyond a basic sandwich with white bread and Kraft singles. Sandwiches come with different sheep, goat and cow milk cheeses and preserves.

Listen to live music with a beer or cocktail.
Like many Wisconsin destinations, Paoli has its own tap room — The Hop Garden, located in the lower level of The Mill Paoli, which is a collection of boutiques and other businesses housed within a historic stone mill. Hop Garden’s variety of beers come from all over the region. Cocktails are available within The Mill Paoli, too, at My Tipsy Gypsy. You can also pair your drinks with tacos from nearby Molino Taqueria. Live music is a regular event in the park throughout the summer. The full schedule of live music is available here. You can even bring a grilled cheese over.

Sit down for a meal at the Paoli Schoolhouse American Bistro.
What was once a school house built in 1864, is now an upscale dining experience at the Paoli Schoolhouse American Bistro. They offer weekend brunch, plus Thursday and Friday lunch and dinner on Thursday-Saturday. The restaurant also regularly hires performers during dinner, so you might get to hear live music paired with a steak dinner.

Discover local art.
The Paoli Road Mercantile has a curated selection of art and jewelry from artists. Here you can buy homemade candles or a print for your home. You can also find prints and paintings at The Paoli Art Shop.
