5 injured in Milwaukee shootout
Feud between households on north side erupts in gunfire
MILWAUKEE — A feud between two north Milwaukee households has erupted in gunfire, leaving five people wounded.
One woman is in critical condition.
Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn says police recovered about three-dozen shell casings at the scene Thursday. Flynn says there was a “significant exchange” of gunfire.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports no suspects are in custody and no weapons were recovered. But Flynn says police were seeking a warrant Thursday evening to search both houses for weapons.
Flynn says the gunfight stemmed from a disturbance Wednesday night between the occupants of two households. On Thursday, an occupant of one house approached the other house and opened fire. People in the targeted house also had guns and returned fire.
The condition of the four others wounded was not immediately available.
