4 injured after camper hits buggy

Four people were hurt Sunday afternoon in a buggy crash, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to State Highway 154 at County Road G near Hill Point at 3:53 p.m. on a report of a crash. Lanes in both directions of Highway 154 were closed.

Investigators said an RV driven by Eric R. Leis, 51, of North Freedom, was pulling a horse trailer hit the buggy from behind as it crested a hill.

A passenger, Ruth Miller, 33, of Arthur, Illinois, was flown to UW Hospital in Madison. The driver of the buggy, Henry F. Miller, 65, of Hillpoint, his wife Wilma, 64 and daughter Marie, 27, were taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Leis was not injured.

The highway was closed for four hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
