4 displaced after a duplex fire in Town of Burke
Occupants are receiving help from the Red Cross
TOWN OF BURKE, Wis. — Four people were displaced after a duplex fire at 5530 Larry Lane in the Town of Burke. The Sun Prairie Fire Department received the call around 6:12 p.m. Sunday.
Fire officials said when fire units arrived at the scene flames were coming from the roof of one unit of the duplex. All four occupants were able to escape the home and are being helped by the American Red Cross.
One Sun Prairie firefighter was hurt during the incident, but was treated at the scene.
According to the fire department, about two-thirds of the building suffered fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Damage is estimated at $150,000.
