308 new COVID-19 cases; nearly 4.7 million doses of the vaccine administered
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin has reported a decrease in positive COVID-19 cases from Saturday’s count as the state nears 4.7 million vaccinations administered.
Health officials confirmed 308 new cases Sunday, a drop from Saturday’s case count of 525. The seven-day average of new cases per day has also continued on a decline, with Sunday’s average at 553.
The state has reached a lifetime total of 603,098 confirmed cases, and nearly 1.3% of cases are active.
DHS officials said 4,695,483 doses of the vaccine have been administered to Wisconsinites, while 2,171,794 people have fully completed the vaccine series.
The seven-day positivity rate for total tests by day has remained the same at 3.2%.
At least 6,904 people have died of coronavirus complications, with zero new deaths confirmed Sunday. Another 30 people were also hospitalized in the past day.
