3 people injured in 3-car hit-and-run crash
MADISON, Wis. — Three people were injured in a three-car crash on Madison’s east side Monday morning, officials said.
The Madison Fire Department crews responded at 11:42 a.m. to a report of a car going 30 mph that had rear-ended two others on South Stoughton Road at Pflaum Road.
According to the report, two vehicles were stopped in a single lane at the intersection when the third rear-ended them. The driver of the vehicle on the front end of the three-car pileup fled the scene, but the two remaining vehicles waited for law enforcement and EMS.
The 18-year-old driver who reportedly caused the crash was injured and the two occupants in the middle car required medical assistance, fire officials said.
All three people who were injured were wearing seat belts. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
