3 injured in 2-vehicle crash in Sun Prairie
Deputies reconstruct crash scene
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on County Highway N, one-tenth of a mile north of Bailey Road in Sun Prairie.
Deputies say a 24-year-old woman from Sun Prairie was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Beetle when she was rear-ended by a 2007 Pontiac Roadster, driven by a 43-year-old man from Madison.
Deputies say the 24-year-old woman was transported to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, a 20-year-old man from Madison, was transported to UW Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Pontiac was taken to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says an initial investigation shows alcohol and speed were contributing factors.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sun Prairie police, the Sun Prairie Fire Department, Sun Prairie Paramedics, Deer-Grove EMA and Marshall EMS.
Deputies say they worked to re-create the crash scene until 7 a.m. Tuesday. They say they closed off County Highway N from Grove Street in the City of Sun Prairie to Bailey Road in the Township of Sun Prairie.
