Three cheese makers will be building new plants in rural Wisconsin.
Emmi Roth USA plans to build a $44 million plant in Platteville to produce specialty cheeses.
Operations will start next year and are expected to create 60 jobs.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Green Bay-based BelGioioso Cheese Inc. is building another plant in Pulaski. Holland’s Family Cheese will build a new plant in Clark County.
Wisconsin now has 135 cheese plants. The state had only 120 a decade ago.
