25-year-old partially ejected, killed in crash

A 25-year-old woman was killed Saturday and her passenger was injured in a single-vehicle crash, officials said.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of a crash on Highway 35/61 near Airport Road in South Lancaster around 12:15 a.m.

The sheriff’s office said the driver, Kaila M. Fouks, of Lancaster and formally of Hudson, drove off the road after seeing a deer. The vehicle then drove up the embankment, struck a utility pole and overturned. Fouks was partially ejected and was killed in the crash.

The passenger, 29-year-old Jeremy Fishnick, of Lancaster, was also ejected during the crash, according to the report. Fishnick received minor injuries, but as a precautionary measure was airlifted to UW Hospital in Madison.
