2,400 new cases, 5 more COVID deaths in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin is reporting more than twice as many new coronavirus cases on Sunday when compared to Saturday.

Combined data from state and county health dashboards showed an additional 2,435* cases of COVID-19 in the state, which makes Wisconsin’s total count of cases since the start of the pandemic 486,705*.

Five* more people died, which is a total of 4,952 in the state.

Eighty more people were hospitalized between Saturday and Sunday, the Department of Health Services said.

A total of 4.4% of people in the state with COVID-19 have required hospitalizations.

DHS said 454,850 people, or 93.5%, in Wisconsin have recovered from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
