Two people on a moped in downtown Madison were injured in a crash with a car Sunday morning, fire officials said.

The Madison Fire Department said crews responded at 10:05 a.m. to a downtown parking ramp in the 400 block of North Lake Street on a report of a car versus moped crash.

The fire department said one person was lying in the road and another sitting nearby when paramedics and EMTs arrived. Both individuals were on the moped when a car reportedly pulled out from the right lane to attempt a U-turn. The moped was traveling about 20 mph when it struck the driver’s side door of the car, throwing both people off the moped.

Paramedics treated both patients and took them to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
