2 men shot in lower extremities on Madison’s east side, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Two men were injured in a shooting on Madison’s east side Thursday morning, police said.
Madison police said officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 5:34 a.m. in the 5300 block of Groveland Terrace.
Sgt. Eric Tripke said three men were fighting, which led to shots being fired. A 27-year-old and a 34-year-old suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their lower extremities.
Police said a 26-year-old man is in custody.
The injured men were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The people involved in the fight knew each other, and police don’t believe there is risk to the public Thursday morning, Tripke said.
