2 Medflight helicopters respond for 2 thrown from motorcycle, officials say

Two Medflight helicopters took two people to UW Hospital Sunday after they were thrown form their motorcycle, Sauk County officials said.

Sauk County officials received a report of a motorcycle crash on Highway 130 south of County Road N in the township of Bear Creek around 12:15 p.m., according to a release.

Investigators said 70-year-old Gary Baker, of Baraboo, was driving a 1984 Honda Gold Wing south on Highway 130. While going around a curve, the Honda drifted off the right edge of the road, went into the ditch and overturned into a creek bed.

Baker and his passenger, 46-year-old Mary Soban, of Baraboo, were thrown from the Honda, according to the release. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Two Medflight helicopters took Baker and Soban to UW Hospital in Madison, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation, but inattentive driving is believed to be a factor.
